in Mytilene in 1962. He graduated from Kalloni High School in 1979 and studied Civil Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, completing his studies in 1985.
He served in the Greek Army from February 1986 to June 1988 as a Reserve Engineer Officer and from then until today he maintains a technical office for private projects in Kalloni.
He has been involved in local government since 1998, when he was first elected as a councillor in the former Municipality of Kallonis. During this time, he has served as President of the Municipal Council, President of DEPTAK, Deputy Mayor of the former Municipality of Lesvos, and in 2019 he was elected as the first Mayor of the Municipality of West Lesvos.
He is married to civil engineer Theodora Zafiriou and is the father of four children.
