Tourism

Welcome to THE OTHER AEGEAN!

In this time of change, the standards of the tourism industry are evolving rapidly at an international level. Stakeholders in the tourism industry are constantly looking for new alternatives to serve the interests of visitors. The very identity of a traveller has evolved from a simple tourist to an explorer of history, art and nature. The “Molybos Tourist Association” has taken on exactly this responsibility: to improve the existing tourist structures of Molybos and the surrounding area and to highlight the environmental and cultural resources of its unique environment. In this way, we aim to offer our visitors a monumental holiday and, in addition, to restore the economic potential of Molyvos.

Lesvos is for travellers who want to experience and participate rather than just passively enjoy the typical, canned, artificial likeness of a tourist destination. Molyvos and its surroundings is a place where visitors can rest and relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area and experience the tranquility associated with the setting of the sun over the Aegean; a place for hiking, climbing or cycling through lush pine forests and acres of olive groves. swimming, sailing and fishing or diving in the blue waters of the Aegean Sea. To relax their minds, eliminate stress and get in touch with their inner self and the spirituality and energy of the island. Attend folk festivals celebrating the island’s heritage and visit museums and monuments and learn about the island’s long history and deep culture dating back over three thousand years. Visit ouzo distilleries, pick olives with the locals and enjoy the aroma of Greek coffee brewed over ash trees in a “kafeneio” (traditional coffee shop) while listening to stories of the island’s past and present woven by the village elders.

Year after year, our many friends travel from all over the world to relive the authenticity and the explosion of sensations that Lesvos and Greece has to offer that you only think you know. We hope to see you among them.
